Crafted with & Precision
From a single buffer in a garage to Connecticut's premier metal finishing destination — our journey is built on quality, integrity, and the belief that every piece deserves the best.
Where It All Started
Picture this: a small garage in West Hartford, a single buffer, and a belief that metal finishing could be done better. That's how Heartbeat Dixieland began — with founder James Mitchell pouring his life savings into quality equipment and a dream.
Those early days were tough. Long hours, learning from mistakes, and refusing to compromise on quality even when it meant losing money on jobs. But that stubborn commitment to doing things right? That's what built our reputation.
Word spread fast among collectors and mechanics in Connecticut. "If you want it done right, go see Jim." That simple phrase became our foundation. By 2015, we'd outgrown the garage and moved into our current 5,000 square foot facility.
